Protectakote v Safekote

The following table shows the comparitive features of Protectakote and Safekote. This will help you to choose the correct product for your specific application.

Safekote Marine is a single component moisture cured polyurethane incorporating uniform silicaClick here to buy spheres. This gives an attractive low profile anti slip finish that is easy to apply and easy to clean. With its excellent UV (Ultra Violet) resistant properties it is ideal for Marine Applications as well as standard locations such as floors, steps, ramps and bathrooms.

Protectakote is possibly the most versatile anti-slip paint product ever made! Protectakote anti-slip paint will chemically bond to most surfaces leaving an extremely tough and flexible coating that is able to withstand impacts and is resistant to most solvents. Its granular rubber content gives it high traction (non-slip) properties and the polyurethane bonder makes it extremely hard wearing.

Protectakote UVR Is an aliphatic polyurethane as opposed to the standard which is an aromatic Polyurethane. As you can see from the table below this means that it is almost 50% stronger than the standard product making it more wear resistant and it is also much more resistant to the effects of weathering and sunlight even in tough marine applications.

Please note that both versions of Protectakote can be supplied with an abrasive additive called SafetyGrip  if required. This would generally only be recommended for slopes steeper than 1 in 12 or for areas subject to contaminants such as oil, tree sap etc which would effect the slip resistance of the product. Please note we don't recommend using the abrasive additive when Protectakote is being used in Children's play areas or on dog agility equipment or any other similar application.
